Biurakn Hakhverdian with gold medal at Beijing Olympics 2008

The Hague, 21 August 2008 – Armenian-Dutch water polo player Biurakn Hakhverdian playing under nr. 4 in Dutch water polo team got gold medal as The Netherlands won the gold medal in the Women’s Water Polo competition beating the United States 9-8.

On Monday, 25 August 2008, at 3.30 p.m. a public reception ceremony will take place at the Olympisch Stadion (Olympic Stadium) in Amsterdam honouring the entire Dutch Olympic athletes.

On Wednesday, 27 August 2008 Dutch Queen Beatrix will receive the medallists in Palace Huis ten Bosch, followed by a roundtrip by open top buses in city centre of The Hague. Finally an official reception honouring the medallists will take place at the Ridderzaal in The Hague.

Holland is number 10 in the medal ranking of 2008 Olympics in Beijing with 7 gold, 5 silver and 4 bronze medals (up to present).

Biurakn Hakhverdian wint gouden medaille op Olympische Spelen 2008 in Beijing

Den Haag, 21 augustus 2008 – De Armeens-Nederlandse Biurakn Hakhverdian heeft als nr. 4 van het Nederlandse Dames Waterpoloteam met haar team goud gewonnen op de Olympische Spelen. Nederland won de gouden medaille door tijdens de finale met 9-8 te winnen van de Verenigde Staten.

Maandag, 25 augustus 2008, om 15.30 uur vindt voor de hele Nederlandse Olympische Equipe na aankomst op Schiphol, een publiekshuldiging plaats in het Olympisch Stadion in Amsterdam.

Op woensdag, 27 augustus 2008, worden de medaillewinnaars ontvangen door Koningin Beatrix op Paleis Ten Bosch, waarna een feestelijke rijtour in open bussen volgt door het centrum van Den Haag. Daarna vindt de officiële huldiging in de Ridderzaal plaats.

Met 7 gouden, 5 zilveren en 4 bronzen medailles (tot op heden) staat Nederland op nr 10 van het olympisch medaille-klassement.
